Your Skin isn’t your EX: Stop pushing it.

🌹 FEBRUARY BLOG

“Your Skin is Not Your Ex: Stop Punishing It”

Let’s just start here…
Your skin did not cheat on you. It didn’t ghost you. It didn’t text “u up?” at 2am and ruin your life.

So why are we treating it like it did?

February is full of this “cut it off, detox, remove everything toxic” energy—and while that might work for your dating life… your skin? Not so much.

💔 The Problem I See Every February

Clients come in doing the absolute most:

  • Over-exfoliating

  • Mixing actives like they’re bartending

  • Stripping their barrier in the name of “starting fresh”

And then they look at me like:
“Why is my skin freaking out??”

Because your skin isn’t toxic. It’s overwhelmed my daring. Slow down a beat.

We just got out of January where we all go into new goals and lifestyle change, the BIG RESET. andddd as we know, we burn out fast. That can happen with skincare or selfcare in general.

I see this so much where clients go from not having a routine to just spending money on all these products and ruing their barrier.

Or they follow social media and celebrities… babbby your skin isn’t their skin. They make money off of that! That’s not always best for you. Let’s bring back our critical thinking.

🌿 Let’s Talk About Your Barrier (aka your skin’s emotional support system)

Your skin barrier is like that one friend who keeps your life together. IYKYK!

When it’s healthy:

  • Your skin is calm

  • Breakouts heal faster

  • You glow without trying

When it’s compromised:

  • Random breakouts

  • Sensitivity

  • Dry but somehow oily?? (we love that for us 🙃) It is sooo common. You aren’t the only one.

🧖‍♀️ February Skin Reset (The Right Way)

Instead of attacking your skin, let’s support it:

1. Simplify your routine
If you have 10 steps… we’re cutting that in half.

2. Focus on healing ingredients
Think:

  • Barrier repair (ceramides, lipids)

  • Hydration (hyaluronic acid, glycerin)

  • Anti-inflammatory support (beta glucan 👀)

3. Slow down on actives
Retinol, exfoliants, acids—these are tools, not daily personality traits.

💌 A Little Tough Love

You don’t need to “fix” your skin overnight.

Skin is not a punishment project.
It’s a relationship.

And if you treat it with consistency, patience, and a little respect…
It will show up for you.

✨ In the Treatment Room

This is why my focus right now is:

  • Barrier repair

  • Gentle correction

  • Long-term skin health

Because quick fixes fade.
Healthy skin stays.

Remember it isn’t just about your homecare and seeing me monthly. Diet, lifestyle, stress, hormones these all play a role into how our skin reacts. Give yourself grace and patients, we will get there!

If your skin has been feeling off, reactive, or just not like you—this is your sign to reset the right way. My February treatments are built around rebuilding, not stripping.
